Music & Poetry: Kenji Miyazawa and Ukraine
NPO Ukraine Yokohama Fund presents a special evening of music and poetry on July 28, 2026 at 19:00 at the Yokohama City Hall Atrium.
“For the Happiness of the Whole World — The Prayer of Kenji Miyazawa and the Resonance of Ukraine”
August 27, 2026 marks the 130th anniversary of the birth of Kenji Miyazawa — a poet, educator, and humanist whose vision continues to inspire across time.
“The happiness of the individual cannot exist unless the whole world is happy.”
This idea is not merely a philosophy, but a way of living — to open society through art, to nurture children through education, and to live in harmony with nature.
These values form the foundation of our work.
Today, the people of Ukraine are facing the profound darkness of war.
Yet even now, people continue to sing, and children continue to dream.
We strive to protect, connect, and nurture this fragile light into the future.
Through support for injured civilians, assistance to medical institutions, and music education for children, we contribute to a world guided by creation rather than destruction.
“Whenever someone truly does something good, that is the greatest happiness.”
This concert is supported by the Yokohama Board of Education and admission is free.
Artists from the Kanto region will bring an evening of sound and words to illuminate the heart.
